01Emergency dentistry

Dental emergency? Call us first.

A broken or chipped tooth, a lost crown, a bad toothache or swelling should be looked at quickly. Call during office hours and we will see you the same day. These steps help until you are seen.

Why patients call us first

As the team dentists for ASU Athletics, Dr. Ahn and Dr. Perez have spent years treating sports injuries to the teeth. That experience counts when you walk in with a broken or chipped tooth.

Emergencies are seen the same day during office hours. We are not a 24-hour emergency office.

What to do right now

  • Broken or cracked tooth

Rinse with warm water, keep any pieces, and hold a cold compress to your cheek. Avoid chewing on that side until you are seen.

  • Lost crown or filling

Keep the crown if you have it and avoid chewing on that side. Never use household glue to put it back.

  • Toothache

Rinse with warm water, floss gently around the tooth, and use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek. Do not put aspirin on the gum.

Swelling that is spreading, or that makes it hard to breathe or swallow, cannot wait for a dentist. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

02Preventive care

Cleanings and exams

Regular visits catch small problems while they are still simple to fix. Most people come in every six months, and some need to come more often.

03Restorative care

Fillings

A filling repairs a tooth damaged by decay. The decay is removed and the tooth is rebuilt with composite resin, a tooth-colored material that blends in with the rest of your smile. We do not place silver fillings.

04Restorative care

Crowns and bridges

A crown is a custom cap that covers a damaged tooth so it is strong enough to chew with again. A bridge fills the gap left by a missing tooth, held in place by the teeth on either side. Our crowns are BruxZir, made by an outside dental lab.

05Tooth replacement

Dental implant restoration

We do not place implants. Once your implant has healed, we restore it with the crown on top, the part you see and chew with, shaped and shaded to match your other teeth. Dr. Perez has extensive training in implant dentistry and has restored hundreds of implants.

06Tooth replacement

Dentures

Dentures replace missing teeth with a removable set made to fit your mouth. A full denture replaces every tooth in the upper or lower jaw, and a partial denture fills the gaps between the teeth you still have.

07Cosmetic care

Cosmetic dentistry

Whitening and porcelain veneers change how your smile looks. It starts with a consultation, where the dentist looks at what you would like to change and talks you through the options.

Good for

  • Stains or yellowing
  • Chips, small gaps or uneven teeth
  • Brightening your smile before a wedding, graduation or photos

Your options

Consultation

A visit to talk through what you would like to change, check your teeth and gums, and plan the right option.

Whitening

Professional whitening lifts stains from coffee, tea, wine, tobacco and age, with results stronger and more even than store-bought kits.

Porcelain veneers

Thin porcelain shells bonded to the front of teeth to change their color, shape or size. A thin layer of enamel is usually removed, so veneers are a long-term decision.

08Straightening

Invisalign and retainers

Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners instead of metal braces. Once your teeth are where you want them, a retainer keeps them from drifting back. Dr. Perez is a certified Invisalign provider and has offered Invisalign for more than seven years.

09Protection

Night guards and sports mouthguards

Many people grind or clench their teeth in their sleep without knowing it. A custom night guard is a thin, fitted cover that takes the wear instead of your teeth. We also make custom sports mouthguards, which fit and protect better than store-bought ones.
